So not posted for many months because basically the camera has been swapped for a barbell. I took up lifting 12 months ago and had no idea what I could do. My aim was to try and lift my body weight (99kg) before the end of 2022. I managed 150kg in November last year but it was a grind. This was my lift in January 2023. Much better! 200kg is the next target.

Massive thanks to @phoenixperformancetraining and @naomi.phoenixperformance for their coaching, help, support and being amazing friends. Massive shout out to my amazing training partner @imogen.house.3 for pushing me to train hard. She is a great inspiration and gives great support.

Finally thanks to the Phoenix Performance crew for their help, support and friendship. Especially Dave and @jackiel135.

Finally a shout out to my youngest son @joshs1ms. By training with him he set me on the path to try powerlifting. Love you mate and proud of you.

Bit late posting but picture of the winners from Tuesday of the A/BPU Brits. @phoenixperformancetraining only had two lifters in these flights. @doc_rob1972 did a solid job with some excellent lifts. Dave L. got his 500kg total for a competition which is something he has set his sights on for some time. Both guys were superb.

What a fantastic days lifting at the A/BPU Full Power Powerlifting Championships. The ladies put on a superb show. Records both British and World were broken time and time again. A tremendous performance. As ever the @british_powerlifting_union were absolutely on point with their organisation and efficiency. Congratulations to all the lifters.

I have been able to train alongside @naomi.phoenixperformance which is a fantastic experience. She is starting her prep for her next competition in the States. The camera has been left at home a few times now I am lifting but I still have the phone and snapped this shot of Naomi deadlifting.

I wanted a different angle, low and ultra wide and the new iPhones work well!

A bit of a different post from the normal photos of lifters but decided to show that I have decided to take up powerlifting.

I have had a lot of support and encouragement from the @phoenixperformancetraining powerlifting team and also from Tom and Naomi to give it a go. So about a month ago I decided to lift!

It’s been great to try something new, something I would never have imagined I would do. Fantastic coaching from @phoenixperformancetraining and @naomi.phoenixperformance and the entire team. Am really enjoying the team training sessions and training along with other team members.

This is just a post of me deadlifting to show I have actually embarked on something new.

My feed will not be full of lifts from me but just to show I understand a little bit more what you as lifters go through. I think it makes me a better photographer.

It’s been a very busy time and I am way behind Powerlift Media website work and not posted in ages here.

A quick post with a couple of photos from Team Training sessions at the Phoenix Performance gym. Great to snap different pictures and a couple of Naomi and Tom in action. They are fantastic and hugely supportive coaches, they have built a great team atmosphere and welded together a great powerlifting team.

They, along with the team have inspired and motivated me to have a go at some powerlifting so yes I am doing some training. Might post a video at some point.
